Directions:

From Troy, take 109 N through Uwharrie to Mullinix Rd. just past Macedonia Church. Turn left onto Mullinix Rd. Go past a small bridge and the Horse Camp will be on the right.

 

Badin Horse Camp offers the following facilities and amenities:

  • Equestrian trails
  • Primitive campsites
  • Tie-outs for the horses

 

Dispersed Camping

This site allows for individuals and small groups to camp in a primitive setting next to the trails on the Uwharrie National Forest.  There are no facilities on-site.  Trash must be taken from your campsite and disposed of at home or at one of our campground dumpsters in the area.

 

Cost Details:

  • Free to use.

 

Notes:

  • It is open year-round.
  • No reservations are needed. It is on a first come first serve basis.
  • Alcohol is prohibited.
  • Campfires allowed.
  • No drinking water, no toilets, & no trash cans.
  • Pets are allowed as long as they are kept on a leash and under control.
  • The trail system is immediately accessed via the Home Trail (#710) to the north and west of the camping area.
  • Campers must take their trash with them or take it to the trash dumpster in Canebrake Horse Camp.
