Directions:
From Harrisburg, Illinois: Take Hwy 13 east 14 miles to Hwy 1. Take Hwy 1 south 15 miles, to Camp Cadiz Rd. Turn west on Camp Cadiz Rd and go 2 miles to the campground entrance.
From Evansville, Indiana: Take Hwy 62 west to Illinois Hwy 141 and continue west to Hwy 1. Take Hwy 1 south 30 miles to Camp Cadiz Rd. Turn west on and go 2 miles to the campground entrance.

Hiker & Equestrian Trails:
From Camp Cadiz trail users can access both the River-to-River Trail and the Beaver Trail (trail #006) from the trailhead just north of the campground, along Forest Road #598.
Overnight parking is allowed at the trailhead or along the side of Forest Road #598 (do not block the road for other vehicles or damage vegetation).
Camping outside of campgrounds:
Primitive camping is allowed ¼ mile outside developed areas within Shawnee National Forest. There is no fee for primitive camping and it’s allowed any time of year. Don’t trespass on private land, and do not cut down live trees, shrubs, or other vegetation. Camp and wash at least 150 feet from any water source. Pack out your garbage and burn dead and down trees only, making sure campfires are completely out.
Campers may camp up to 14 days of continuous stay, but no permanent structures may be built. Camping is not allowed in the 80 designated natural areas within 150 feet of lakes and streams or near trails. Equestrian camping is not allowed in designated Wilderness.
