Leatherwood Mountains offers a premier camping experience in the heart of North Carolina's scenic landscapes. Nestled on the banks of Elk Creek, our campground provides 30 AMP power and water hook-up sites year-round, ensuring a comfortable stay for all visitors.
A Haven for Nature Lovers
Our beautiful wooded campground features 21 easily accessible pull-through gravel sites, perfect for large rigs and trailers up to 35 feet. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash to ensure everyone's safety. While there is no bathhouse within the campground, our barns, showers, and bathrooms are just a short walk away, providing convenience and comfort during your stay.

Leatherwood Mountains offers the following facilities and amenities:
The Barn has a community tack room, bathrooms, a shower and an inside wash pit with hot and cold water, an outside wash pit has cold water and there are several hitching rails near the tack room
TRAIL BARN – 10 open-air/covered Trail Barn stalls – located across Elk Creek (over a high water bridge) – 5 hook-up camping sites. The sites at the Trail Barn are ONLY 20 Amp breaker sites. You also must bring at least 100′ of drop cord & water hose with you when you camp here as all the hookups are from 1-panel location.
