Little Lick Campground, located in the London Ranger District, is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts who love camping and horseback riding. Situated in Pulaski County, Kentucky, just north of the Cumberland River, this campground offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature.

Camp Amongst the Trees

The campground features four family camping areas and two double campsites, providing ample space for visitors to set up camp. Each site is equipped with tent pads, fire rings, lantern posts, and picnic tables, ensuring a comfortable camping experience. While there is no trash pickup service, campers are encouraged to practice Leave No Trace principles and pack out their trash.

Horseback Riding Trails

One of the highlights of Little Lick Campground is its proximity to two scenic horseback riding trails: Little Lick Trail #502 and Nathan McClure Trail #530. These trails wind through the picturesque landscapes of Pulaski County, offering riders a chance to explore the beauty of Kentucky's wilderness on horseback.

Directions:

From I-75, exit 38, travel west on KY 192. Go 24.5 miles to Old Whitney Road on the left. Follow signs to the campground. 

From Somerset, take KY 192 east for 21 miles. Turn right on Old Whitney Road. Follow signs to the campground.

 

Little Lick Campground offers the following facilities and amenities:

  • Picnic tables
  • Toilet
  • Parking area 

 

Cost Details:

  • Free to use

 

Notes:

  • Use picket lines and corrals to secure horses. Do not tie horses to trees.
  • Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Negative Coggins Test Required. The Kentucky Department of Agriculture requires a negative Coggins or similar test for equine infectious anemia and a valid certificate of veterinary inspection.
  • Trash pickup is not available, so plan on packing out your trash. Bring your drinking water.
  • Sites do not meet accessibility standards for persons with disabilities.
