Sam Brown Horse Camp beckons with its seven well-equipped sites featuring horse corrals, ensuring a comfortable and secure stay for riders and their steeds. Embracing the essence of rustic camping, amenities include a vault toilet, potable water sourced from a reliable hand pump, picnic tables, and fire pits. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the local chapter of Back Country Horsemen of Oregon, recent upgrades have enhanced the camping facilities, elevating the overall camping experience.

Embark on a thrilling journey along the Taylor Creek Trail, spanning an impressive 10.25 miles one way. This scenic route traverses from the Briggs Valley towards Merlin, leading riders through a captivating path to Lone Tree Pass. For the adventurous souls, the trail extends beyond the pass, revealing a steep valley etched by the graceful flow of Taylor Creek. With a moderate trail difficulty and an elevation of 2,000 feet, riders can relish over 40 miles of exhilarating horseback riding experiences in the vicinity.

Directions:
From Interstate 5, take Merlin Exit to Merlin / Galice Road approximately 12 miles to Briggs Valley Road (Forest Road 2500). Follow Forest Road 2500 approximately 15 miles to Forest Road 2512, turn right and the campground will be on the right just past Briggs Creek bridge.
