Buck Run Horse Campground is a new equine campground adjacent to Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area in Spruce Creek Acres. There is direct access to Spruce Creek community trails as well as over 200 miles of trails on Big South Fork. While it has been a challenging journey to build from scratch in recent years, Buck Run Horse Campground continues to work diligently on adding to our amenities and improving your stay!
If you or your family don't ride horses or mules, or if you don't feel like riding, the surrounding area offers plenty of other adventures. A wide variety of activities are available to the whole family, including hiking, kayaking, exploring natural or historical landmarks, or just relaxing.
RV sites with pull-throughs are available to make parking easier for trailers. Stalls at our facility are 12'x12' so horses have sufficient room to move around. There are lots of trees in the camp to provide shade during the hot summer months. There is an electric and water connection at each site. WiFi is available in the office, as well as a local phone number. There is a picnic table at every site.
It took Jay and Karen several years to find a horse camp that they could either buy or build. Their vision wasn't quite aligned with other opportunities, so they landed here and started working! They have enjoyed a variety of camp stays over the years, and they have done a great job of combining many of the best qualities of those camps. They're certainly not done, but we're off to a great start, and it'll only get better from here!
Trees have been preserved to provide shade from the hot sun on the sites. Pull-through and back-in sites with stalls across the driveway are available, as are smaller back-in sites with stalls on site. The campground has water and electric hookups (up to 30 amps), as well as a dump station. The stalls are all 12x12, covered matt stalls, and pipe panel stalls.

Buck Run Horse Campground offers the following facilities and amenities:
- Spacious Stalls - After a hard day's ride, your equine friend deserves some room to rest. All our stalls are 12'x12' in size.
- Direct Trail Access - We are located directly on Spruce Creek trails, as well as within 300' of access to the Big South Fork trails.
- Water & Electric - Each of our sites have water and electric (up to 30 amps) hookups.
- Free Wireless Internet - Camping is about getting away from it all, but we understand you may want to still stay connected! Free Wi-Fi is available in the office area.
- Pull-thru Sites - Sometimes you just wanna pull in and park. We offer several 100' long pull-thru sites to make setting up easier.
- Pet Friendly! - What would camping be without your best friend? We are pet friendly!
- Picnic Tables
Site prices include up to 6 people per site and 2 licensed vehicles (including all trailer types). Sites are as shown here https://buckrunhorsecampgroundtn.com/ . Any areas with a red ‘X’ are not available (or not available for online booking) at this time.
You will find any site information you need at the office front if they are not at camp when you arrive. Proceed to your reserved site and stalls, make yourself comfortable, and your check-in will be completed as soon as possible.
Cost Details:
$32 per night for sites, and $15 per night for covered stalls. All prices include tax.
