Situated at an elevation of 8500 feet, Beaver Meadows Stables boasts a prime location adjacent to the Roosevelt National Forest. The trail system offers over 20 miles of scenic mountain trails that wind their way into the heart of this magnificent forest. As riders embark on their journey, they will be greeted by the wonders of nature, from breathtaking vistas to refreshing river crossings on rides lasting 1.5 hours or more.

Beaver Meadows Stables welcomes riders every day from 8 am to 4 pm during the summer season. While walk-ins are accommodated when possible, reservations are highly recommended to ensure a seamless and personalized experience. Horse Facilities:

  • 16’x16’ outdoor, uncovered horse paddocks (These paddocks are self-care, self-clean, and are designed for one horse each.)
  • Outdoor corrals
  • Water tubs
  • Wheelbarrow
  • Poop fork


Horse Camping:

For guests that are camping, we have eight campsites that have outdoor corrals next to the campsite. All horse camping is dry camping but the river runs right by the campsites and provides clean water (bring your own buckets). All paddocks are self-care, self-clean, and are designed for two horses each. Keep in mind that the closest feed stores are located in the city of Fort Collins, about a 1-hour drive away. We provide a wheelbarrow and a poop fork to clean up the paddocks.


Overnight Lodging

A variety of overnight accommodations are offered. There are lodge units, log cottages, a family cabin, and condominiums. All units come standard with coffee makers, microwaves, and satellite television. The Lodge at the Ranch is a two-level building situated to overlook Little Bear Island, the meadows, and fishing ponds. Upper units are equipped with wood-burning fireplaces, mini-refrigerators, and decks. Lower units are equipped with patios. Their three, rustic 1950s built log cottages are set on the hillside overlooking our beautiful river valley and all come with full baths and satellite television. Select cottages have kitchenettes, refrigerators, microwaves, and decks. Tucked back in the woods, our JP Family Cabin is a single level consisting of a full kitchen, living room, dining room with wood-burning fireplace and satellite television, and a ¾ wrap-around deck. The Beaver Meadows’ Condominiums are located at the center of the base facilities and each has a full kitchen, dining room, living room with wood burning fireplace, and a deck.



  • No Coggins are required if you are coming from inside the state of Colorado. Bring your own feed and hay. Weed-free hay is NOT required. The closest feed store is Fort Collins.
  • Horse corral reservations require a half down payment. Cancellations or date changes up to two weeks before your stay have a $25 cancellation/change fee. Cancellations within two weeks of your stay cost the price of your deposit.


Cost Details:

  • $30 per horse per night. $20 per second horse in the same corral.
  • Call for the cost of the accommodations.


Note: They are open every day (weather permitting). Walk-ins are welcome but reservations are recommended. A $50 deposit is required with your reservation.
