Directions:

From exit 45 on I-81, take State Route 16 South for approximately 17 miles to State Route 603 at Troutdale, Va. Turn right on State Route 603. The campground is approximately 4 miles down 603 on the right.

Cost Details:

  • $5 per vehicle per night.
  • Sites are first-come, first-serve.

 

Notes:

  • Caution: Bears frequent the area; keep a clean camp (including dog food and horse feed), and store all food items in closed containers.
  • Check-in is at 2 pm and check-out is at 12pm.
  • A per day, per vehicle fee, will be collected onsite for any extra vehicles.
  • Wilderness Areas have group size limits of 10 people.
  • Campers are required to deposit manure and hay in the centralized bin.
  • Don't Move Firewood.
  • No cell phone coverage or pay phone is available.
  • Horse owners need to have a current negative Coggins test certificate for any horse that they take to a public place for recreational use in Virginia.
  • No alcoholic beverages.
  • No drinking water is available.
  • The America the Beautiful Senior and Access Pass provides a 50% discount on the base campsite fee. No other America the Beautiful Interagency passes are valid at this site.
