Direction:
From Dayton, WA head northeast on Patit Road for 14 miles. Then turn left onto Harstock Road and follow for about 3 miles. Then turn right onto Tucannon Road and follow for about 15 miles. Then go right on Forest Road Forest Road 4713 and follow for about a half mile.
From Highway 12 between Pomeroy and Dayton, WA, turn south on the Tucannon River Road. Follow road for 32 miles to where road Y's. Take Forest Service Road 4713 for 100 yards. Parking is available next to fish information board. Trail takes off across the creek so be prepared to get your feet wet.

Panjab Campground is located along Panjab Creek. There are only three tent sites available. With many other campgrounds in the area, if this one is full there are other options such as Ladybug Campground (approximately two miles up the mountain on NF-4712 on the Tucannon River), Tucannon Campground (four miles back down the mountain on Tucannon Road), or there are several dispersed camping areas along Tucannon Road.
Cost Details:
- Trail Use - $5/vehicle/day
- Campground - $8 per night and $5 per extra vehicle exceeding the maximum two vehicle per site allowance.
Notes:
- Wilderness regulations apply in the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness. Such restrictions include no motorized equipment, bicycles, or hang gliders to name a few. Groups larger than twelve are prohibited as well as caching or leaving equipment or supplies for longer than 72 hours. Most applicable to hikers is the fact that shortcutting a switchback on any trail is also a violation of wilderness regulations. - The campground is open year-round; however, it is not maintained in the winter and access is dependent on weather.
- In general, pets are allowed on a leash and under control throughout jurisdictions.
- Weed-free hay is required in the Umatilla National Forest.
