Tamarack Horse Campground provides campers with a primitive camping experience, offering cleared campsites equipped with fire rings and tables. Vault toilets, garbage cans, and drinking water are also available to ensure your basic needs are met during your stay.

With approximately 25 miles of horse trails within St. Croix State Forest, you'll have plenty of opportunities to saddle up and explore the scenic beauty of the area. The campground offers pull-through campsites, picket lines at each campsite, and manure bunkers for your convenience. Additionally, a day-use rider parking lot makes it easy to access the trails whenever you're ready for an adventure.

Approximately 25 miles of horse trails exist within St. Croix State Forest. The Matthew Lourey State Trail, a multi-use trail open to horseback riding, also passes through the forest toward Duluth.

 

Cost Details:

  • Individual campsites are $17 per night.
  • Equestrian campsites are $22 per night.
  • Group campsites are $50 per night. Call the state forest contact for more information.
