Welcome to Idle Nook Horse Camp LLC, where peace and adventure coexist at the base of Buck Knob Mountain in the stunning Ouachita National Forest. Conveniently located about 8.5 miles east of the Hwy 270/71 Junction at Y-City, Arkansas, our camp offers an easily accessible yet secluded retreat. The paved road ensures a smooth drive all the way to our entrance, and once you pull in, the highway is out of sight, leaving you immersed in nature's tranquility.
Idle Nook Horse Camp boasts 22 well-equipped sites, each with water and 30-amp electric hookups. For those with larger RVs, two of our sites also feature an additional 50 amp plug. Our facilities ensure that both you and your horses are comfortable and well-cared for. Most of our stalls are covered, providing protection from the elements for your four-legged companions.
For campers without sleeping quarters, we offer two cozy bunkhouses. One bunkhouse includes two twin beds, while the other features a queen-size bed and a bathroom, ensuring a restful night's sleep. Our brand new log-sided enclosed pavilion is a standout feature, equipped with modern bathrooms, showers, and a fully stocked kitchen. This pavilion is an excellent gathering spot for meals, socializing, and even some karaoke on our dance floor. And yes, ice is available for purchase!
The true highlight of Idle Nook Horse Camp is its direct access to the Fourche Mountain Horse Trails (formerly Mill Creek Equestrian Trails). With over 130 miles of marked trails, there's an abundance of riding opportunities to explore. The trails are clearly marked with colored ribbons, and maps are provided to guide your adventures. Whether you're here for a weekend or a week, there's more than enough trail riding to keep you engaged and excited.
