KCL Campground boasts some of the few shade trees found within Carrizo Plain National Monument, providing respite from the sun. The remnants of the original barn structures still stand on the site, reminding visitors of the land’s agricultural past. However, campers are asked to respect the area by refraining from entering the barns, which are no longer safe for public access.
