Nestled within the pristine Kankakee River State Park, the Kankakee Equestrian Campground beckons equestrian enthusiasts and nature lovers alike to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Illinois. With its pleasant sites and reasonable prices, the campground provides the perfect setting to pitch a tent and embark on an unforgettable equestrian adventure.
The Equestrian Campground, located off Illinois Route 113, offers a haven for horse lovers. Operating from April 1 to October 31, the equestrian trails operate seasonally, allowing riders to savor the beauty of the park's wilderness. While no water is available at the Equestrian Campground, the captivating surroundings make up for any lack of amenities.
The wildlife management area along Route 113 features a 12-mile equestrian trail, welcoming riders from April 1 to October 31. Come mid-January, when hunting season ends and the snow blankets the landscape with at least 4 inches of snow, the park opens for snowmobiling from sunrise to sunset. Directional signs for trails guide adventurers at Area 4, and trail maps are readily available at the park office.
