Leatherwood Mountains offers a premier camping experience in the heart of North Carolina's scenic landscapes. Nestled on the banks of Elk Creek, our campground provides 30 AMP power and water hook-up sites year-round, ensuring a comfortable stay for all visitors.

Our beautiful wooded campground features 21 easily accessible pull-through gravel sites, perfect for large rigs and trailers up to 35 feet. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash to ensure everyone's safety. While there is no bathhouse within the campground, our barns, showers, and bathrooms are just a short walk away, providing convenience and comfort during your stay.

Leatherwood Mountains is a paradise for horse enthusiasts, offering over 75 miles of breathtaking trails to explore. From woodsy paths along ridges to old logging roads and scenic creek crossings, our trails offer a variety of terrains for riders of all levels. The trails are safe, well-marked, and mapped, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable riding experience.
