Ready for the best, most massive slumber party for you and your four-legged friends (of the horse variety)? The Chapa’s group equestrian campground has quite the digs: a nine-stall barn, water troughs, 12 campsites with electric hookups, two fire rings, two picnic tables, AND a nearby swimming hole. If the campground isn’t already rented out, you can pitch a tent at one of the campsites on a first-come, first-served basis -- they’re the only ones in Hill Country with electric hookups.
Equestrians can’t get enough of Hill Country State Park because of it’s back-to-basics wilderness trails. We think your horse will appreciate them, too! With 40 miles to cover, you’ve got plenty of space to spread out and take your time. Primitive campsites are also available if you’d like to tough it in the woods for a night or two. Well water for the horses is available, but potable water is not, so be sure to bring your own!
