Located just a third of a mile east of the historic Lakeview Ranch barn and corrals, this tranquil site invites visitors to reconnect with nature amidst stunning columnar basalt formations that rise along the lake's edge.

Though Pacific Lake is currently dry, the surrounding landscape provides ample opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Horseback riders will find the site an ideal base for exploring a network of trails leading through Lake Creek Canyon and beyond. The canyon, with its dramatic basalt formations and sweeping views, offers a picturesque backdrop for riding, hiking, or simply enjoying a peaceful picnic by the campfire.

Equestrians will appreciate the site’s horse-friendly facilities, which include corrals and a watering trough to ensure horses are comfortable after a day on the trails. However, with few trees for highlining, portable corrals are recommended to secure horses safely overnight. While the site remains rustic with just three camping spots – each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring – it offers a cozy, intimate setting for small groups or solo travelers.
