This is a single trail of a more complex network of horse accessible trails (about 14 miles total) in the James River State Park. You can potentially run into hikers, bikers, or other horses. JRSP has two separate day-use trailer parking areas that are grass (you have to tie to your trailer) and a campground with stalls for overnight use (but these are reservation-only and are often booked months in advance). As of 2026, entry into the park with a horse trailer is $9 for day use.
