The trail itself varies greatly in terrain from grassy meadows to rocky switchbacks and overall it makes a nice day ride (don’t forget to pack a lunch). Please note that the first mile and last 2 miles of this trail is shared with ATV’s, 4x4 vehicles, and dirtbikes; however horse and foot traffic only is allowed within the actual monument boundaries. Dispersed camping is allowed at the trailhead and high lines/hitching rails are provided but water must be hauled in. This area is also utilized as a cattle grazing lease so make sure your feed is secured inside of your trailer. Pool Table Road is fairly steep and if it’s rainy, 4WD is required.
