A moderate trail that features bird watching, wildflowers, forest, views, and great riding. There is a long uphill section. Mostly shaded. Go early, parking gets full by 9am on weekends. Water and bathrooms on trail. $6 Entrance Fee.
The Chinquapin Trail is a single track trail that runs east to west in the park. This trail connects to the Dean Trail and the Archery Fire Road. The park visitor will hike among huckleberry, toyon, redwood trees. There are two bridges that a user will cross. Chinquapin Trail is best used with the Crystal Springs Trail and Dean Trail to do an over seven-mile loop.
Huddart Park affords over 900 acres of coastal mountain environment for a variety of activities. Many miles of trails afford even the experienced hiker many hours of pleasure. Many of the trails are also open to equestrian use, making this park one of the favorite destinations of the local equestrian community.
